This page is a look into my Junior year

This year I hope to achieve happiness for myself and others and to keep my determination and hard work ethic throughout the year. I hope to be successful on the Edison Girls JV tennis team this year as well as maintain good grades. CIBACS is a huge focus of mine and is very important to me this year.

About FasTrak

This project has allowed me to explore possible career options by having a mentor in a position of my choosing and getting to intern with him/her. I did an internship with a nurse at the Long Beach Memorial Hospital Van Camp Center. My mentor was Jennifer Martinez-Sammon/Nurse Jen. Nurse Jen wasn't able to have me in the actual hospital so she and I spent the intern hours at the Van Camp Center which is used for med students and she was able to take me into the simulation rooms and describe processes nurses to everyday. I was also able to be in her office where I got to learn about the software used and which steps to take to get into the medical field.

Mission Statement

Out of this mentorship I hope to learn in depth about what it takes to be a nurse and get an idea of what daily life is like working in a hospital with patients. I want to gain knowledge about the profession and to see for myself if it is something I want to pursue.
